Hi all,

A quick post to say hello. I'm back in an E34 after a 9 year break and its good to be back. I'm amazed how well these cars still handle and stick to the road. Way more entertaining than my much newer MB...

My first E34 was a Luxor beige 525i SE auto (M20) which was a good car whilst I owned it. Now I'm in the a 24v version but with a manual box this time. The right choice! :D

Just got the infamous steering slack to ged rid of and lube up the rear window guides (presently sticky) and find out why my computer doesn't go 'BONG' when I get a warning. Any ideas on the latter?

Hello and welcome! I dont have an answer about the gong myself, but i seem to remember a post about it awhile back. You might try searching for "gong" in the archives.
