Man I love this site-spending way too much time here lately...
I was just wondering when the very last of the e34's rolled off the production line.Am I correct in thinking that some time in late '95 or early '96, a dealer would be selling e34 touring's, but e39 sedans? Well in 95 I was too young to afford a new Bimmer anyway, except maybe the special Burago edition...
Anyway were the touring's titled as 96's?

No US E34 was sold as a '96 MY car, as they are not OBDII compliant. E39s started as MY 1997s. There was no MY '96 5 series car in the US.

The youngest E34 I've ever seen was sold in 3/96 and had a build date of 11 or 12 of '95. Probably was an olympic edition 525 -- a horribly stupid mistake of a car with bad looking wheels and a dumb logo on the dash.

best, whit

actually, 1995 model year e34s were produced up to about 4/1996...but as stated earlier...none were titled (in the USA) as 1996 models. They all had an "S" in the 10th digit VIN location...which indicates a 1995 model year.

A "T" in the 10th digit VIN number location would indicate a 1996 model year...and all of the e39 5 series that were mfg'd in 1996 (at least in the USA) and a "V" which indicates a 1997 model year. :D
