That looks cool , quite a surprise to see those lights on the E34 !

If I saw that coming towards me Id just think it was an E38. The car looks in really excellent condition too, very nice :)

Why? That's a lot of work.

i'm not the sort of person that morally approves of cutting a car as beautiful as the E34 up, but i have to say that looks pretty good! i think it makes the car look more generic, but if you forget the original E34 front-end design it does look pretty mean...

you must get a lot of 'what the hell' looks from other drivers!

I guess its similar to the things the VW boys do , putting Jetta front end on golfs etc

wouldn't mind seeing that in person as pics don't always show everything, looks good in the pics, much better then some of the tasteless headlight conversions/replacments i've seen

So...ummmm you took a perfectly good e34 M5, chopped it, and put the front end of an e38 on it.

Why?

I will give it to you that the work is extremely well done (from what the pictures show), and its your car so you should do what you want with it.

Happy motoring,
-ashley

After the car came from the factory it went directly to Gemballa. They did the E38-Front-conversion.

But its not really and e38 conversion then. At the time the converison was performed, e38s didnt even exist.

The work looks to be first rate but the first thing i thought when i saw it was "wow, a 7 series"....

if you went for classy, you hit it right on the head

sporty/mean went right out the window though

what if someone took the e38 rear and put it on a e34, that would make one of the most beautiful cars in human existence i think

IMO, the e34 rear is one of the cars best styling attributes.

The car is a '95, the e38 came out in '95 for the US market so in that case the e38 did exist.

I really like that, would look really good with the updated '01 style headlights and corners.

SO um... exactly how was that done. I like the original front more, but it looks really smooth like it is how another version of the e34 could have come from the factory. But anyway what did that require?

I'm wondering if you could just do the lights and fab the piece under them and then work the corners into the fenders.

Looks like that's what they did to it. But how is the lights mount is the question. Hood and fender are e34's, looks like. Not really like the corner though, headlight looks good, maybe a little big.

Mount would be the easy part to fab because it's hidden under the hood. Could even weld in part of the radiator support from an e38 to have the right mounts, but easier to cut out whats in the way and add new brackets where needed.

Can you post some pics from under the hood showing how it was done?

I've seen a small picture of this car before. I've always wanted to see more. It's a perfect transformation, as far as I can tell. I like it a lot, even though I am somewhat of a purist when it comes to the E34's. Other attempts have turned out...far from good.

Personally I prefer the E34 front, but the conversion does look well done - just a bit bland for me !

Hmmm while it looks smooth, I can't help but look at it (front ways) and think that the car is too short. I believe the styling lends itself to be a longer car... and having a e34 makes it look stunted.

Gemballa... MMmmm. Those guys don't **** about!! The conversion would be as quality as factory standard!!

Not 100% sold on it... But its alot better looking than I first imagined. Pic 1 almost looks like...umm...err...an E36. I think Its only the pic angle.

Certainly a rare little jigger tho ;)

Daniel, that looks awesome man. I would love to do that to my car someday. The e34 chassi's headlights were the only thing that looked out of place in my opinion.

Hehe! I dont have any better pics for the moment, but I will maybe make some this summer. I think I also will sell these parts to someone that are willing to pay good for it. People all over the world are interested, at least what they have toled me. This will be in a few years or something, if someone just come up to me and pay right away.

Weird, but kind of cool. Well done regardless.
