Wow! thats really nice! I like the tires and wheels especially.
I never knew that right hand drive cars had opposite wipers until this moment. (I also never knew that 518i could look so good)

Thanks Kyle, Was only cheap. She is a 1996 with 110k full BMW history. Only cost me £1100! The wheels cost me £300 of ebay and the sports leather was £250. so owes me £1650!! I guess thats about 2800 USD

Thanks :) standard they were 201 HP mines tuned to 344!! They only made 5000 of these for motorsport and that was in 1987, its a real collectors car over here now.

http://www.caruk.org/images/Cosworth/split2.jpgActually, we did get the car, but it was a bit tamer than the full RS Cosworth... It was called the Merkur XR4Ti on these shores... Same 2.3 liter turbocharged engine, RWD, 5-speed, etc. I had an '89, and I loved it! It ran great, and with very few mods (a turbo timer, different wastegate, etc.) it ran very hard!

Also, the wheels on your 518 are awesome!! The 18" style 5's are quite rare ni the U.S. (the vast majority of Style 5's are 16 and 17").

Thanks Erwin,

What car did the wheels come from do you know? I see you have the same ones on yours :) I got a bargain off ebay as they were only £300 which i thought was a very good price for 18" BBS split rims!

We never got the XR4Ti over here, I guess because we had the Cosworth. We did have the XR4i none turbo but that finished production in 86. The sierra Cosworth is only 2wd and is a 2.0L engine with 16V head designed and built by Cosworth. They used to race tune these unit to over 500HP for the saloon car championships though 87-89. Funnily enough it uses a American gearbox the Borg Warner T5 as nothing over this side of the pond could handle the torque

Engine-wise, we got the 2.3 liter Capri engine (opel in UK/Germany?), turbocharged, and thsi same engine was later used in the SVO Turbo Mustang. A solid engine... Nice car! Oh, and nice BMW, too! :D

I wouldn't even think about... If anything, I might save up for an S38 for your 518... :D
