hi all!,

are ccm's and lkm's fairly universal things or are the model specific?

sorry if it's a stupid question, i know a breakers that wil let me have these things extremely cheap and might try replacing these first (namely the ccm) then go hunting for faults if this doesn't cure my 'check control' message

thanks

to the 520..otherwise it looks like all 5's and 7.s take the same part number in e32 and e34 that is. I don't thinks so on the lkm though.

i was more concerned with the ccm so hopefully you've answered my prayers!? i've re-soldered the ccm but i think it's on its way out so i'll try a replacement from the breakers tomorrow (it's from a 520 i think and mines the 525) so fingers crossed, no more 'check control message'

i'll let u know

thanks again

the lkm differs between certain models. i know that the 540 has a different one than the 535, for example. however this could be only during specific years yes.

that doesn't tell you much but at least it does tell you that one lkm won't work in all e34s..

not sure if the lkm's the same as mine yet but it was worth havin anyway

think i'll do a solder job on the ccm before i put it in just for good measure!

just tried replacing both the ccm and lkm, i think i have success!!

no brake light circuit message and no check control message

all the lights seem to work fine so i assume the lkm i got is ok for my model

have tried to test the ccm operaion by removing a brake bulb and setting of with the hand brake on and leaving the drivers door open and all the usual warnings pop up

thanks for the reply bill

i have exactly the same two lkm's and was afraid to use the second one BMW seem to think it will blow the car up
but i did try it once breifly and it seemed ok

i think the LKM was out of a 7 series bigtallsam are you having any problems with the new LKM if not i am going to try my one as i have resoldered the old one twice now and i think i made a hash of it is this time
