According to Bruno's site

Symptoms of improper belt tension include:

Belt squeal.
Noisy alternator, power steering pump or A/C compressor bearings (from excessive belt tension).

I have the above symptons on my 95 530i. Where can I obtain a new V belt from? What tools are required to do the install? I want to try and replace this today, or tomorrow morning, if possible.

my 530 has a spring tensioner that only gets tightened at full travel.

oh yes, and be careful not to strip the threads where it tightens by the oil pan.

Serpentine belt? or V-Belt? Which does the 95 530i have? I stopped by pepboys, they stated they only had a serpentine belt.
