Time to lease a new car. Which would be your preference and why. I am not planning on selling my current e34 going to fix it up and give it to my daughter.

In 2007 they are bringing diesel engines to the states.... if that was availible in a 5er w/ stick, & AWD.... that would be coool

get a e39, cheaper, and get a 540 m sport, or get an old m5

I second a 540I Sport 6-spd E39 CPO

Probably will be cheaper than the new 530IX

Well, that obviously depends on your budget, I dont think anybody would choose a 530i over a 545i if they had the money. I personally wouldn't get the ix, unless you live in an area that gets a lot of snow its just extra weight and cost.
For me it would be a 545i 6-speed.

If I couldn't get the M5, I would go for the 545i.

530d, oh wait americans don't like diesel. 530d is the first car on my list when the sucessor to the e60 comes out. Knowing diesel the prices in australia will sink like a stone, depreciation is my friend.:p

that touring looks sweet.

Lay down mezzaire, in my opinion.

535d - twin turbo, 3 litre diesel. Chipped it outperforms the M5 in some areas.

Whoo hooo - what a Q car !

If that's not available, go the 530d - still bloody impressive ! :D

BTW, for those of you who haven't sampled diesels, may I suggest you always match them to an auto gearbox - keeps the engine in the optimum torque range beautifully ! ;)

A new 550 manual tranny would kick butt. Any of the used car choices would not lease out well. BMW provides much better residuals and rates for their new cars. Particularly on a 3 year lease. They want the car back while still inside the warantee period so they get to sell it again.

545i 6, but i think a e39 m5 is the choice here, you could get a real decked out one, plus i think there the next best looking bmw after 2002, and e34.
