insturment cluster

I have been having a problem with my instrument cluster cutting on and off
Erratically. The fuel, speedo, water temp, and tach all cut on and off from
2 or 3 seconds to 3 or 4 minutes. Also lose cruise control. Checked all fuses,
grounding points for instrument cluster, ignition switch ground, tugged on harnesses to cluster; while failed or trying to make fail and it had no effect.
I have heard of other cluster problems people have had but with different symptoms. Has anyone encountered this or have any suggestions?

My sister's '97 318 convertible does the same thing.

Anybody else have this problem and found a fix?
