hello, I intending on buying some locknuts and gaskets to fix up my front pipe, problem is the lock nuts are listed at 22.91 USD each at BMA's website and i need 6 of them, does this sound right? I was wondering why they are so steep for copper lock nuts.

Yeah, those are expensive little critters. I had to replace the ones on the M5 when I had to drop the exhaust to install new seals in the transmission.

It's insane to pay almost $90 for 6 nuts. You could use regular nuts, but after they are fried onto the exhaust stud they would be impossible to remove without damaging the stud. Just re-use your old ones.

Don't forget to use a liberal amount of never-seize on the new nuts and studs, this will help tremendously when you have to remove it again.

Try a regular import auto parts store. I needed studs and nuts when I did the volvo - and a local suplier hasd them. You might also want to try an indendent they usually have that stuff on hand and will cut you a deal.

That's gotta be a typo. Send Patrick or Ives an e-mail. They must be showing the price per hundred. I just bought a dozen or so and they were on the order of 40 cents apiece. By the way, they're not solid copper, merely copper clad steel. I dropped one down into the neverland when I did my headers and by chance tried my pickup magnet and it stuck to it like glue.

I've purchased these more than once from BMA and I'd kick my own a$$ if I paid that much (sometimes I don't pay attention to the prices of small items). Could have sworn paid @ $0.35 for each 'critter'

Might want to call Patrick and find out if the price is correct.

EDIT: Just found my receipt - $0.35 each.

Good luck,

Dave M

Must be a mistake. Alloembmwparts has the same nuts for $0.43 each:
