Here's a funny little story.. Last Friday, we were leaving a restaurant and it was frickin' cold (8 degrees F according to the computer). When we pulled in the garage, I noticed all the paint was gone from my hood roundel. So cold all the paint came off.. :D

had a batch of aftermarket rondells that did that at normal temps a few years ago, they sucked

Apparently it's laminated to the roundel to give it color.
