Just a short writeup. It was hot today, about 35+ degree celcuis or 90+ in the old money. Romus, Bimmerman and Paul and I met Greg about 11:30am and Greg told us that we could get some photos done at the skid pan. The drivers club was only using the track so we ventured down there.

The threes car lined up for our first pics.

We had plenty of area to play with and test the limits of our cars in a closed, safe environment. This area is normally used as a skid pan and for driver training.

Paul let me drive his 525i

Romus gave the 5 speed a bit of a whirl.

Not to be out-done I showed Romus how the car handled and later on in the day, I gave Wingman (Tony) an Zeuk in Oz (Bo) a ride also.

The car still doesn't bottom out

Part of the skid pan area

It understeers a lot, just no grip at speed.

Enough of the foreplay, time to take some pics on the track.

Appropriately this should be my 500th post so Kristian has shamed me into a sig pic - hope it works.

Once again thanks a lot guys !

( Just in case you were wondering, BigKriss is as enthusiastic with his driving as he is posting - thanks for the lesson on tyre scrubbing :D - Awesome handling though ! )

Hey guys, I picked it!
We knew you wouldn't miss us on purpose Matty.
We made an agreement to meet again in 6 months time at Eastern Creek. The car club is having a day on the skid pan, you guys should sign up for it.
I was at last years event and it was the only time I begrudged being a Steward and not a competitor.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW, Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttt! Yesterday really wasn't my day. I was dead keen but simply couldn't get out of my commitments at work and home, there are days my girl (the e34) wishes I was single again, and ****, somtimes I wish I was too.... gee you fellas, it's clear you had a blast out there. I wish I could have been there too to see how the ol' girl's new M-suspension would have taken all those seriously sweepin' swerves.

btw. nice wheels Romus, good to see there was a red beastie there to balance the colour spectrum for the pics this time, last time mine was in pieces so I was there without her.

F@#$%*@#!@!!! I'm upset, am even more pissed now than I felt yesterday when I was imagining every moment I was missing whilst chewing through all the chores...

My apologies fellas, I am so sorry I couldn't make it. Consider me seriously in shamed in Greg!
:( <cries> :( Nick

I only got to spend an hour or so with the guys but it was worth the trip. In that time I got to take the Romusmobile for a spin (my first E34 manual) and the lovely M50 525i of Bimmerman even found its way into my temporary care. Big Kriss has spent plenty of hours and big bucks on his car and it's been worth it. The way that it does its stuff defies belief. You'd think you were in a 3 series, very 'chuckable'. Nice to meet all you guys but too short a meeting. I'll get there earlier next time.
