Yesterday we had a meeting with some friends here from the E32 Club and we are looking for parts for repair of brake boosters which we cannot get in Japan.
FOR VEHICLES WITH NATIONAL VERSION JAPAN L807A=YES, BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER ATE 34311156643
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=GC81&mospid=47354&btnr=34_0500&hg=34&fg=25
and FOR VEHICLES WITH NATIONAL VERSION JAPAN L807A=YES ,BRAKE SERVO UNIT ATE 1 till 12/1990 34331156925
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=GC81&mospid=47354&btnr=34_0302&hg=34&fg=25&hl=5
The plastic insert and the 2 gaskets, one is an O-ring which sits behind the plastic insert, and the other one on the right hand side on the other side
The plastic insert of the German version has the p/n ATE 10.0101-5302.1, and additional it is mentioned 7728. Not sure if the Japanese version has the same p/n.
Does anybody have any info about the correct p/n of ATE and where to buy and what they cost? We cannot get them here in Japan, only the brake booster complete.
Thanks a lot.

not that it's much help i plugged 34331156925 into my parts software and it says it basicly fits almost everything that used a hydrobooster 5ers 6ers and 7ers 633s back to 78 and 750s to 94, it's been proven wrong but usually is correct

I Winfred,

I am sitting in the hotel in Singapore now, just arrived here and will stay till Saturday. So I do not know when I can go online here again, as I have to travel here a lot.
What would be interesting for me to know:

The ATE part number of the set of replacement parts or the single items.

And a contact address where I can buy them from USA. Email, contact person or an online source where I can find it.

I cannot buy them in Japan and also in Germany one cannot buy these parts from ATE or any other source. They refuse to sell. I assume that has something to do with liability in these countries if something breaks on the car. But can I buy these parts in USA?

Greeting from very warm and humid Singaore.
I will look again on this posting when I can, latest when I am back to Japan. Thanks a lot

That o-ring is a common failure item in E24/E28's, causing PS fluid leaks. I replaced mine over 3 years ago. The plastic insert and the metal (I think) washer survived the repair. The salvage yard may be your best source for the plastic part. O-ring is 38MM ID x 44MM OD. If you can't get it locally I can send them. http://www.normgrills.net/bcg/Brakes_FAQ.html#anchor912711

Thanks Paul,
the O-ring we meanwhile also sourced in Japan. But what we intend to is to repair some of the booster units completely for 7335 and 750 E32 and have them ready on stock for our club members. Especially on the 750 it is really difficult to get the booster unit out, and therefore we plan a complete overhaul of the booster units with all replacable wear parts, just to make sure that they work 100%.
So the best would be if we could get hold of the original ATE repair kits from a reman company which might sell it to us. By some legal/liaility reasons or company policy of ATE I cannot get them in Japan or Germany.
So if you find out a company selling us the original repair kit, that would be the best. I would buy some at one time.

No idea which company in USA would sell new repair kits for brake booster units of ATE?
Or does anybody know what are the ATE parts numbers for the BMW comparable numbers as mentioned above?

Little progress. This company remnufactures them among other parts
http://www.cardone.com/English/Club/Products/default.asp

Rockauto sells them for 261 $ as reman compared to > 400 for new ones from ATE.
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/catalog.php?carcode=1012903&parttype=1884&EPIsubcategoryID=188&EPIcategoryName=Brake%20Booster&EPImodelID=6694&EPIengineID=2812&partGroup=14

Anyone has contact or can check with Cardone if they sell single parts for brake boosters?
Maybe it might be of help to tell them for overseas, not for USA, where people might sue them in case their brakes fail.

Thanks

have you sourced bmaparts.com and talked to Patrick or Yves? Tell him Jeff from bimmer sent you, email him he will be with you soon, give him the details and he will try to hook you up. They do ship to Japan too, I'm just not that versed in what your requesting if its parts or a kit or Id do it for you Eric.

Basically many people are looking for a repair kit.
I want to help out the guys in Germany + here in Japan. Many want a repair kit. Just the internal parts as I showed in the pic above.
I don't need it at the moment, but also would buy a stand-by set just in case. I have 2 spare brake bootser units used on stock, maybe one I give to a friend here. A new one costs here > 1000 $.
So the question is in general who can supply? Once we have an address, price and cope of supply, I will distribute it in Europe, Asia and some smaller boards to contact these companies directly.
Thanks a lot

Basically many people are looking for a repair kit.... the question is in general who can supply? Once we have an address, price and cope of supply, I will distribute it in Europe, Asia and some smaller boards to contact these companies directly.Have you been to http://www.ate.de?
You might need all 3kg of this (http://www.ate.de/generator/www/com/en/ate/ate/themes/30_catalogues/40_print_catalogues/printcatalogue_k14_en.html) however they have an online parts catalogue (http://ate.tecdoc.net/ate/de), tho it couldn't get much worse than tecdoc.net

I was checking it out and copied all the relevent info I could see from there out for you- just see below for the parts that were described.

They also have this (http://www2.contiteves-am.com.syzygy.de/english/cclub/passworde.asp); (probably your best bet); if you can get a login it might help you to get what you need.
The CustomerClub is an area only accessible to our customers. In this closed area our customers themselves can get information whichs helps them with their daily work. If you are one of our customers and still have no entrance, please contact your ATE partner.

Partners are all over the place- I know one here in Australia but surely one closer to you can get the details you need. They'd at least have the catalogue you could look through... let mw know if you really need one, I could just get it- but its not like I have any favours lined up with these guys. Good luck, :) Nick

Woahh, that is a long list from you.
My friend in Germany, the Meister of this repair shop which made my hydraulic hoses as you remember, got the ATE parts catalog from someone in ATE, and they could not find these parts as single item, and it was also confirmed by the technical department in ATE.
They only sell new ones.
So the only ones where one could (maybe) get the single wear parts, are these companies which are specialized in remanufacturing and which have their own subsuppliers for these parts.

So we have now sent an email to Cardone in USA and asked them if they can sell separate wear parts instead of complete reman units.
My backyard hack mechanic buddy Mike (BTW: he is also from Australia and lives a long time in Japan) has done it, as he owns a company and maybe it is better they get the inquiry from a company instead of from an individual person.
Let's see what they answer. Will keep you informed.

Yep defaintely. When I suspected my booster I was keen to do the same. They seem pretty reliable in e34... but I was unlucky in obtaining any parts also, like you.

This is a strange situation, if the catalogue has no such parts in it we're in trouble- but that also means the remanufacturers get very special treatment. I have trouble believing that as this catalogue that the remanufacturers use, but yes, there must be other ways. It is not unlikely that ATE make these parts themselves as they are neoprene and used in so much of what they make... but I agree no matter what there would be others that make them in SE Asia for sure.

If ATE only sell these parts to 'partners' and they do not onsell, it sounds like illegal trade practice- definately in Aus, the US and accross most of the EC, so it begs further analysis... v. interested to hear further if you get closer to the allusive 'truth' :) Nick

Old thread, but I just found a list with all makers and part theirnumbers in aftermarket for this part number http://www.niparts.com/s_FFFF88/34311156643.html
I recently got a set from Germany from someone who found out last stock for the master cylinder, the original ATE numbers of the seals are 2 pieces 03.3302-0017.1E, 1 piece 3.3402-2508.1E, 1 piece 3.3301-2537.1E . BMW # 34311156643, maker ATE, that is the 25mm version, the smaller 23mm version is on the E30 M3.

I found on Ebay U.K. this kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-7-Series-E32-Brake-Master-Cylinder-Repair-Kit-M1526-/310806681910?rmvSB=true
But what is confusing to me is that they talk about Lucas, although my E32 has ATE, quote:
Lucas 25.4mm bore size, Model Type From To Cylinder Type and Bore Size, 7 (E32) 730 i,iL Dec-86 Sep-94 Lucas 25.40 mm, 7 (E32) 730 i,iL V8 Apr-92 Sep-94 Lucas 25.40 mm, 7 (E32) 735 i,iL Sep-86 Sep-92 Lucas 25.40 mm
7 (E32) 740 i,iL V8 Apr-92 Sep-94 Lucas 25.40 mm, 7 (E32) 750 i,iL V12 Sep-87 Sep-94 Lucas 25.40 mm.
Important Information Please read prior to purchase: It is common practise for vehicle manufacturers to fit not only different makes of Master cylinder to the same range of vehicles, but also differing sizes. In most cases this information will be needed to confirm the suitability of a particular kit.The size is normally stamped into the casting, however this is not always visible without removing.Sizes are normally expressed in the major measurment, ie 23.8mm bore cylinders will be stamped 23
unquote

The Ebay seller seems to be specialized on repair kits for brake items like calipers etc http://www.ebay.com/sch/biggred4u/m.html?item=310806681910&rmvSB=true&rt=nc&_dmd=2
