Hey what's up everyone? I am new to the board and I am going to be picking up a 1990 535i 5 speed on the 24th. I am in Wichita and the car is in Ft. Lauderdale so it should be a fun adventure back! I am already looking for my first mod and want some suggestions. The car already has some nice mods(wheels, front and rear M5 swaybars, strut tower brace, euro clears, front lip spoiler and rear spoiler), etc.. What are your suggestion for my first virgin mod?? Can't wait to be an active participant of the board! :D

oh watch out for Gayle, she dont like noobs (new folk)

I don't recall her saying that.

BTW...welcome to the death zone!

Ft. L. is an awsome place.

More details on the car!?

why did you buy it?
how much did you buy it for?
how did you find it?
what problems does it have?
who did you buy it from?
what is your social security number?
what color is the car?
what mileage is on the car?

haha i'll answer as best as i can:

I bought it because i LOVE the styling of the 535i when they are subtly modded.. That and my italian heritage plus a 535i black with tinted windows = mafia ride!
2) I paid $4250
3) It was listed for sale on Bimmerforums and on here
4) His name is Victor haha
5) 535-M5-E34
6) Black on tan
7) 207K

here are a couple pictures, but i'm sure you guys have seen it in the for sale thread

Nice looking car, welcome. The EAT chips are getting good reviews from other m30 owners. Also, you did good getting a 5 speed.

the only way that's happening is if i'm doing 140 into a tree and then you have to pray the tranny will fly far enough to land on your front lawn :D

Be sure and check it over good before you do any mods. A car that looks like that probably has had a lot done to it already. May already have a chip and other stuff. You should get a good history from the previous owner and/or have someone really savvy on E34's go over the car with you.

don't know about that, had my auto 535 to a indicated 135 and it had plenty of beans left i just got off because i was coming up on my exit fast, you could still feel the acceleration when punching it (xmas day and no traffic at all i don't want to hear it)

Welcome rookie...Enjoy the car!

2 more weeks until i get it and then its a 1600 mile adventure back to Kansas... I'm really excited, i dont know what to expect at all from the car since i've never driven a 535i of any kind(I drove an 89 525iA that was a complete dog). I hope it has a little get-up :D

Hey, I'm just north of Ft. Lauderdale. Not to rag on Kansas or anything, but you just CANT refuse an opportunity to go cruisin down las Olas (an outdoor strip of bars on the beach) in Ft. Lauderdale or Cityplace/Clematis street in Palm Beach in that car. If you're feeling really adventureous, you can take a trip down to South Beach in Miami - they like E34s there alot.

Let us know when you're coming down and what your plans are, just please don't turn around and drive straight back with it!
