Just remember guys that his event is open to ALL e34s. So get a caravan going and drive on over. I might make it a Fri night and Sat event if there is enough people from longer distances. The family can come too as Chicago is a great city to visit and the location of the meet is down the street from a huge mall/shopping area. I need to know how many people are going to need hotel/motel accomodations in order to search for the best motel/hotel for you guys.

Again, this is going to be the WORLD'S BIGGEST E34 EVENT!!! The most e34s gathered in one location. We will also invite the Roundel. So you don't want to miss this one.

we should have some sort of sticky regarding this issue?

OK.
Please ... sticky a thread with All the info and current for this year ...also we can keep better tabs on who plans to attend.

Last year, the web page had the map for the previous year ... luckily I made the same mistake as some others :p and said, "oh yeah ... it's on the other side of the park, let's go":D They were about to leave, so who knows how many others did the same but left.

I have signage to offer to help everyone find their way to the site.
Let us know what we could do to contribute.
Let's also make some suggestions ... let's see how big we can make it!

Shame on you Scott.............
Although honestly, i am beginning to regret teaching Kelly. Has anyone seen my NX lately, no seriously?
I’d offer the services of Pablo’s garage but we may have two bimmers to bring as well. Or maybe a bimmer and some other awesome vehicle yet to be named (or procured for that matter).

Oh and Scott, if i don’t manage to grenade the engine in 'Thor' by the time Great Lakes Dragaway opens..................battle of the vagons is on.
Brandon, maybe we could do that Friday evening of the meet too if the weather is condusive. Don’t forget, those crazy cheeseheads think nothing of mixing alcohol and high horesepower.
Hell, they don’t even impose a speed limit through the kink @ Road America. ;)
Then saturday after some chill time and shower we hit the town.
I also would like to suggest getting hotels by the airport, greater selection and a little more centraly located if we're doing both Busse and Chicago proper.
Not to mention Great Lakes is then just up 294/94.
[edit]Errrrr, maybe not, just mapquested. It's an extra 2 hours driving there&back from O'hare.
Never mind? [end, edit]
Never really seemed that long when one is itching for a little 1/4 mile action.

Anyway we should coordinate/price out hotels over the next couple of weeks. I'll be callin....

Wow, this is really starting to sound awesome! Can't wait!

I'm new to this, so I'm sure it's already been covered, but of course we should be able to get some big discount on a hotel if we book as a group. Let's keep this sticky.

I'd also love to join up with a caravan of some sort. I'd be willing to make a detour for that. Perhaps nearer the event we can all post our planned routes and use that as a starting point for setting up caravans. I'll bring my walkie talkies! "Bimmer niner-one, Bimmer niner-one, this is Bimmer bravo-charlie, requesting Big Macs at oh-two-hundred, over". :D

And that really is a beautiful color, Paul. I'd miss it, too. :)

I will try to plan a Friday night meet and greet event for those that can make it. Saturday will be the big picture taking. So, all e34s have to be present. An official website is in development. All info will be there.

Do ask more questions about possible places to stay, or activities. I will try do my best to make this 2 day event the best it can be. I will plan for the average college student who is tight in the wallet and those that can shell out a little more.

Great. Let's go!

Yes, Mapquest's estimate obeys the speed limit, but it also doesn't include bathroom, fuel and hamburger stops. Not to mention border crossings, which are usually painless, but you never know.

In my experience it evens out, and Mapquest's time estimates are pretty accurate. About 9 hours Toronto-Chicago seems about right to me. Totally doable in a day.
