After having my 1990 535ia for about 6 months and loving every minute of it, even in it's poor condition, I found the perfect candidate for a replacement. An excellent condition 535im with 8k more miles than my 535ia and e39 sport style 5's plus an awesome system. Asking $3000 paid $2400.
Aside from the a/c everything works, and it has heated seats!
All I have to do in the near future is use some donor parts off my 535ia such as the OBC, driver seat and as long as it's the same ecu, my performance chip.
Let me know what you think.

I'd almost pay $2400 for those wheels.

Well, not really, but I really like em :)

What a deal! I see 535im's nowhere near that condition going for twice the price.

$2,400 for that? What a great looking car! Are you sure you weren't wearing a mask when you "stole" it :D .

Killer deal. That looks like a Hartge exhaust? I have heard that the cars with heated seats also have the limited slip differential. In any case, you stole the car. Congratulations on a beauty.

Does it really look like a hartge exhaust?
I was under the impression that hartge was a pretty expensive exhaust.
Would it say hartge on it anywhere?

Sorry but I hate the look of the exhaust Hartge or not! The rest of the car looks GREAT though. Congrats.

Honestly I don't like the way the exhaust looks either, not my style.
And it's too loud for a luxury car.
I will probably change it eventually.

Yes that's my point too. It would look great on a Subaru WRX but IMHO a bit out of place on such a fine car.

Wow.. fantastic car, and even better bargain.. Although the skeptic in me keeps saying "If it's too good to be true..... "

Still, love the car, and those wheels really complete the look.. Best of luck to you.

$2400? You must have stolen it, or that was just a down payment. or maybe youre in iraq or some third world country where people break down and weep at the sight of american dollars.

That's what I paid, it does have some problems though, the capacitors in the dash need to be replaced, and the driver door is a pain in the ass to close, but the door pins are fine, hopefully that's just an adjustment. And I get some vibration on the highway above 70mph, it might just be the wheels that need to be balanced. It could also be a driveshaft center bearing starting to go, or if it has a flex disc maybe that's it?
On a side note if anyone is looking for a good running 1990 535ia with average mileage 158k, I just so happen to have one I want to sell.

Thanks everyone.
Honestly I'm not used to having such a nice car, I just hope it treats me as well as my auto did.

Speakers my friend, you can probably hear him coming from a mile away.

Very nice car, and what a price! Your exhaust looks just like my B&B, it has the same SS oval tip, which I hate.
