I just rebuilt my alternator with new voltage regulator, brushes, bearings etc. I put it back in the car and I was just wondering what voltage i should be reading. I got a constant 12.3 volts when reading off the alternator whether i was revving the engine, had lights on or off etc. I was under the impression that if you increase the revs the voltage will go up slightly or is the voltage regulator just doing it's job and keeping a steady current? cheers.
