Got a lead on a '939 525i for around $2,500. It has close to 200k miles on it. I'd like the opinion of the pros around the here - would this be a good purchase? I realize this is going to depend ***heavily*** on how it has been maintained. Let's assume that the previous owner(s) did proper maintanence. I believe the vehicle has the M50B25 motor and GM Hydramatic tranny. I haven't personally seen it yet so I can't give any more color. So -
1. How much more life could one reasonably expect from a such a vehicle?
2. What potential problem areas should I absolutely scrutinize when looking at the vehicle?
