Better idle with ICV unplugged?

After cleaning contacts last week I forgot to plug my ICV back in, and except for grumpy cold starts, it idles smoother without. Plugged it back in, and now I get occasional stumbles and CELs. I cleaned it a while back, and the little door thingy moved smoothly when I put it back in. Is it possibly shot anyway, maybe with the actuator part? Anybody else seen this?

could be the actuator but more likely a vacume leak. I know this is a retarded thing to hear but is usually the culprit.

If it's a vac leak, why is the idle perfect when I unplug the ICV?
