Edit: if it doesn't .. what's the most popular brake upgrade can be done?

for example 850i brakes fits on E34, anything for E36?

No E34 front brakes don't fit on the E36... Well, the pads are the same as the M3. But they do not fit as is.

The most popular upgrade is the M3, but you need to change the spindle.
I did it on my race car and I am very happy with the result.
