Could not find my original post,so here is the conclusion of my "ABS LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING"saga.
I followed he normal route of fault finding and also a lot of suggestions from forum members(thanks guys)
When the obvious did not sort my problem out,I was stumped..
My Alfa Romeo`s batt was dead from standing and I used my Beemer to jump start it(all lights and fans and de misters etc on to load the system)
The funny thing was that I could not hear the alternator on the Beemer whining as it takes the load-
After a while I cranked the Alfa and the beemer cut out-A long story short, the voltage regulator on the Beemer is shot and the only time the alternator would excite was above 3400rpm.As my car is an auto,it was seldom that I rev the car this high in daily traffic driving.
As measured,I had 10,2 volts and this was the cause of the ABS light coming on sporadicly..
With a now fully functioning alternator and fully charged batt, the ABS light has not come on in over 1k of driving...
My problem solved(should I say 2 problems solved)
