Both sides of my rear swaybar broke.
First off, Why would this happen?
Second, Should I go with and OEM part of Aftermarket?
I bought the car for my girlfriend so im not after any performance upgrades.
I can take some pics of both sides and post them if need be.

Did the sway bar break, or just the mounts/links??

I'd bet it's just the mounts, or the links. If so, you should be able to easily replace them. Go with stock parts, BMA or similar will have them fairly cheap.

You know I haven't even looked close yet but I bet you are right Bret.
Is there any real damage that can become of this if I drive it like that?

You really neeed the links... otherwise it is very unstable going around corner or changing lane...

it's farly common to see broken rear links as they are brittle aluminum, not sure what breaks them through, i drove the **** out of my 535 for almost 50k miles and didn't break the orignal ones so there may be some outside force at work

I couldn't imagine what would be required in order to break the sway bar itself lol. But i doubt it'd be the priority repair in that instance.

The rear sway bar drop links are easily replaced .... no wrenches, as they are a push fit with acaptive rubber grommet in the aluminium link. Spray the rubbers in WD-40 and pull on the heavy gloves .... before pulling ;) :
