Can someone please tell me the steps to removing the automatice transmission, and any tips that will make it easier?
I am also looking for a source for a new or rebuilt one.
Thanks

Without a Bentley Repair Manual in hand I would not start that job. For a good recon one or for repair contact Kirt Koeller

I have a ZF factory reman for sale with 1 year / 10,000 miles of use on it. It carries a 2 year / unlimited mileage warranty on parts AND labor, serviceable at ANY BMW dealership in the US. They cost $2500 installed; I'm looking to get a grand for it, plus shipping.

If you have an early 735 ('88 model year or earlier, maybe a few '89s), I have a used ~ 140,000 mile unit in good condition. $300 plus shipping takes it. This one was advertised in the swap meet/for sale section a few months back.

Both are located in Cleveland, Ohio. PM me for details.

Removal is standard procedure; if you've done one before, it's a two hour job, three if you're slow, with no hitches.

best, whit
