I just received these pics from someone in Europe asking me how much he should offer for that car. It is a 1992 E32 750iL Highline, he got it for a real bargain price.
Well, the color,.... what to say about that. It was the first owner who ordered it like that. But for sure that is very rare, actually I have never seen it, so it must have been made by BMW Indivudual.

from the sopranos point of view you could probably whack somebody in it and not have too much to worry about when it comes to cleaning up! it really is digusting. we should all chip in and buy then burn it so it never sees the light od day again

Some one dyed it red. The guy on the roadflea called it. I agree.

What about all the non-leather trim pieces, carpet, etc.?

I suspect it's a product of BMW's bespoke customization division.

...we had vendors who would come by to clean up our used cars. One of the things they could do on the spot was redye parts that had been discolored. Didn't have to be leather...anything in the car.

I suppose this could be a BMW job however the panels, console, et all looks too blotchy to lead me to be BMW work. I think they would do better. Just my opinion....

agreed that it's blotchy, however i kinda like it. i wouldve put more black in there, mainly the center console and such, but hey, to each his own

Not sure about this particular case, but I almost bought an e28 528e that a red interior stock from the factory, so I know BMW offered it somewhere along the line.

As do I. There's no way the headliner and other upper trim panels would've stayed gray had the rest of the interior come that way from the factory.

I generally like it, but I think whoever did it went a little overboard. Needs more balance, less in the door panels and other trim. Also looks like a leatherique job -- it appears that the scuff marks are through the dye on all leather parts (glovebox, seat backs, center console), and whoever did the work didn't take the time to cut the original black dye from the seats.

best, whit

Last year a very rare Highline E32 was sold, originally owned by BMW Headoffice and driven by then board member Dr. Reitzle, in charge for technical development.
Seat leather color was called hazelnut brown, even the headliner was made of leather as well the tool box cover cladding.
Unfortunately I did not download the pics. But BMW Induvidual did fulfill almost any customer request. Here some other pics, car was once owned by an arabaian Sheigh, which used it only when he was visiting his house in Switzerland. Now owned by someone in Germany.
