Hi all,i am debating on getting some sort of rear wing for the back of the car...
Don't know which way to go...I know the M-Technic wing is appr. $650.00,that is way too much...What are my other options, and do you guys have any pix of your "rear-ends" ( CARZ ONLY...WISE-GUYZ :p )
thanx....

Sorry, but I think they look ugly and stupid. Do you have an EAT chip, yet?

Made by Hella, but looks like a BMW part in all other ways. No idea of price, previous owner had it fitted.

for possible rear wing options.

hehehehe...

seriously... M-tech, or maybe AC Schnitzer. But if you don't have an M5, you won't really need the rear wing. A big one just looks dumb if your car can't hit speeds that need it... the only subtle one that looks good for me is the M5 one.

If you have an E34, I think you might be better off doing the 540i brake duct upgrade. I'm still undecided on this one for my car.

I think the one by Hella is an OEM BMW product, not sure though.

Yeah, I suspect that too. Hella seem to make a lot of stuff for BMW, it's just a lot cheaper with a Hella badge on it. Go figure...

I am installing a KAMEI rear wing on my 540. I found the price of the wing was acceptable but then have to get it painted

Well, for the same reason T-shirts with the name "Armani" on them are more expensive...

What I do NOT get however, is how 3rd party shops like BMA, or here in the Philippines, European Motors, can SELL BMW parts a lot cheaper than the dealer.

On the Hella note... I also suspect that the new i-Drive systems and IR night vision systems found on the new Bimmers are also developed, or at the least, co-developed by Hella as well.

Do you have a pic of the E39 M5 rear wing? Just wondering how it will fit perfectly to the E34 rear boot lid ... Curvature is different. Advise please, as I'm looking for one too. I am in Malaysia.

From BMWarehouse on the Gold Coast Ph: (07) 5529 3400 got it while on hols in January, also bought a 2nd hand steering wheel for $150, rear wing for $200. He also had a schnitzer? wing for $300 I think it was

I have original certified Hella for my 94 540. I can not tell if it helps on satbility however it is loosening the hydrolics of the trunk fast and the cover falls down easily with a high speed on a windy day.*I find it very dangerous if you have kids*
I would take it off but the paint has already marks on the joint points and I need to paint the whole trunk if I do so. Do not recommend at all...

From what i understand, the E39/// M5 wing is short and does not fit the curve very well, that was my first choice, but,i just found-out this info.....so, it's back to drawing board again....

Here is the e39 M5 rear deck lip installed on a 540ia which I think looks outstanding. It has a very subtle appearance but still adds to the car. This car belongs to John @ Bekkers which was in last years Virtual Car Show...it got my vote.

at least, I hope the picture is here - first attempt at doing this. :-)

The car came this way, and I wasn't going to remove it.

For those of you looking to lose the E34 M5 / Technic (Rieger... Kamei...etc) style wings, let me know... I've been looking.
