I considered buying one once. I test drove a few.

I really liked it. A very plush all-weather GT for very little money. In the end I dismissed it because of the handling. I found it to be too soft. But I did think it was a great car. And you certainly don't see many of them.

Apparently the auto transmission goes out pretty reliably around 100K miles, big dollar repair. Interestng cars though, hard to find a nice example these days.

I had one, if the previous owner hasn't, put on an extra oil cooler for the tranny. They have horrible problems with heat. It was an amazing car to drive, very fun with th AWD.

Yeah, that is a common problem I discovered in my research.

All my research plus my own impressions say yes. As with any older car, things can go wrong, and the transmission is a common one. Nothing money can't fix, though ;) I would.

Cool cars, very unique and you get that wonderful flat 6 sound. Too bad they only made them in autos. I test drove one once, it was a pretty cool car. Guy in town had a modded one, it sounded awesome.

All you have to do is get a cheap V6 Camaro Flowmaster and they sound bad ass.
