Ever notice how great a new pair of cotton socks feel, once they go through the wash once its ruined. Ah.

The end.

they get a little better if you turn them inside out and shake the large quanity of fuzz out after washing for the first couple washes

Is it because the fabric is tweaked after a wash, or is it because they've been stretched after being on your foot for the first time?

Whats your favorite sock?

I have some nice plaid ones from Burberry. $30 a pair -- most I ever spent on socks. They're loverly :)

Not the trademark Burberry plaid, mind you. A darker, choclatier brown with some orange in it. Silky goodness.

I like my socks after a walk through a couple fields and the woods, them burrs that dont get out remind me of my first wife...

Those magically disappear on me and new ones (almost always not to my liking) appear instead.....much like my favorite work t-shirts with holes in the armpits.... :(

I get issued with so many socks that I have two drawers full of them. They're great inside the Blundstones for mowing the lawns, wife wears the winter ones inside her ski boots...Range of colours-black, black, black...

I really dont know why, when I have 5 final exams next week, I am reading a thread on a BMW message board about socks, and enjoying it. ;)

You'll have to explain what blundstones are to the yanks around here -- I'm going to guarantee that everyone stateside except me doesn't have a clue what they are :)

Jon, I felt really bad for you mate that everyone was ignoring your original topic and rambling about. Took me a few min to realize it read 'New Socks' not 'New Shocks'... I recommend staying away from the tubed ones.
