New to the forum, but not new to these great cars, 1st was e28 528iA, 2nd and still got is Brunehilda the e28 535iM, latest car is e34 535ia 1989 with 241,000K's and my question is for this car, I have been offered a set of alpina rims 17 x 8.5 and 17 x 10, will the 10s fit the rear and what will I need to do to make them fit (I really want these rims!): any help and suggestions would be really appreciated, thanks. Have checked the archives, but not a thing.

I had 17x10 in the rear on a stock suspension and somehow they fit. Don't remember the tire size offhand, 235/35/17 maybe? Jon K has 17x10s, as does Bahnstormer, perhaps they could shed some more light, as will the wiser members here...

I have Alpina rims on my car, not sure if they are 8.5's or 10's but the rears wear 265 rubber and they work fine. I believe the Alpina rims have the proper offsets so your won't have issues. I can check to see if they are 10's.

I'm going with 235/35/17 and 265/35/17... 265/40/17 rubbed the fender in the rear

Thanks beetos, she must look awsome with 265s on the rear, that is the same look that I am after, it would be nice to know if they are 10s.

Hello!!!
I have alpinas with 8,5 front and 10 rear. 235/45/17front and 255/40/17. Mines offset was 28 and i used a 5mm spacer because the rim was rubbing the absorber:( .i did rolled the lip and now i am not rubbing anything! So if the offset is nearly 22 or 23mm then i think you are fine!;)

I'm very happy that i helped! you get those spacers if you have problems ok? For the exhaust i can't help you because i live in greece... BUT you can make it because mine is handmade from a shop So you can order it somewere. I can provide you with closer pics if you want!:)

Closer pics would be great if it's not too much trouble, I'm checking with the guy whom I'm buying the mags off for the offset and thanks to you I've already enquired about where to get some spacers if I need them, I'm going with the same tyre sizes as you, so it should all come together nicely, thanks
