Front passenger's fog light error appears, light does not come on, bulb and fuse are fine... any suggestions?

The wire going into my foglight is frayed and does the same thing. Try wiggling the wire going into the foglight with it turned on and see if it does anything, if it does, repair the wire.

Why should the check control have failed?
It works perfect, because he said:


fog light error appears, light does not come on


So if the fuse seems to be o.k., I would despite of this check it and change it. If that is o.k., follow the lines to the fog light and check with the multimeter where the power is stopped.

Alexlind123 gave you a hint what could be the cause.

Ohh, if it is just medicine, that's fine.
In my case and my age it is probably Alzheimer ;-)

Dirty/corroded contacts on the wiring going into the fogs perhaps?

Remove and open up the LKM. One of the mini relays will likely have a fractured solder joint to the PCB. Reflow the solder to repair.
