I carefully replaced the capacitors on the board with the correct value as per the diagrams on bmwe34.net. I now have intermitent fuel, temp, and econo meters, which is better than none (which i had before). What else can i do? My cluster has the 160mph speedo and the digital diagnostic readout for a manual car. I can only find the inferior clocks from lesser models or autos secondhand. If i floor the throttle i also get a whirring or vibrating sound from behind the clocks....
Are there any other electronic components in the cluster that are known to fail?
My 535 is also telling me via the fuel computer that its only turning in 13mpg round town and 25mpg on a motorway, does this sound about right?
