I'd like to remove and repaint the rub strips that run along the car:

How do I get them off? Am I likely to break them? Am I better off just ordering new ones?

Thanks Bullyd for the pic :)

I just painted mine, its pretty simple. Looking at the strip, pull from right to left and they will just pop off. You may want to wiggle alittle bit while pulling. I didnt break a single clip either side and they just pop right back on. $10 worth of spray paint and they look brand new.

pry the end off carefully from the plastic clip from the back edge of the front door, dont bend them because there is a metal insert inside the plastic. after you take it off some of the clips you might be able to slide the whole thing off forward. at least the front edge has to be slid off, the clippy slides into the end of the rub strip. the back one can be popped off all the way along its length, IIRC

Thanks.

Can someone clear up if the procedure is different for the rear doors than for the fronts?

And what about the short pieces fore of the front doors and aft of the rear ones?
