That is the one from my car. Took out the bulbs for the ilumination of the buttons to show the pic more clear.

Jon Evans has a good write-up on how to change the backlight color.

Anyone succeeded to repair this?

I am going to send my one to a specialist of the German 7 forum, he is the only one in Germany who solves all the pixel probs on the E38 models. Even applied for a patent.
Let's seee how it works. Of course the old BC IV is completely different from the newer E38 parts.
But I see it as a test case. No prob, still have 2 BC on stock :)

I believe that there is nothing one can do about this on our cars once it starts happening. I live in Chicago and even now in November can notice the dimming of the pixels until the car is warmed up. Here is a link to a site that does repairs but only on 95 and up so that just about leaves us out.

iy is just a difuser. My friend wants to try that one, I just let him do so, have enough spare BC's. But for people which do not have one, it is a quite costly matter to change the BC, even if you get a used one, not to talk about the price of a new one.

This problem is caused when the LCD substrate delaminates. No repair possible. :(

Well, Jon Evans had some ideas on this. Who knows if it could work. I will give the guy my BC as a test sample. No prob if it breaks.
