I am not the electric wizzard. What is the opinion here about that?

I just did it a week ago.

It works great. The author only had to do the passenger side, but I had to do it to both sides.

But it works.

Theoretically it should work but it didn't work for me. I have tried for hours and months and also with the help of Tiger and we can't figure it out. He made me a relay resistor which also should have done the trick. Didn't work for me either. All I did was blow fuses all day. My car dosen't want to be fooled, all it wants to see in there is a 9005 again. I gave up now forcing to learn to live with the irritating "gling"..."low-beam"

Are you sure you had the relay wired right? If you hook the relay up backwards, it wont work. You need the Normally Closed (87A) position to go to the high beam wire, not the low beam.

It seems like the way to go would be to use a resistor to emulate the missing low beam headlamp filament. That would be more elegant IMO. Here's a little schematic of what we're talking about. I don't know what the resistance of a headlamp is, but I'm sure it's pretty low. Maybe 3-4 ohms?

Trust me, hours spent, money spent, wiring diagrams stared at over and over, tester in hand, fuses blown, triple-checked, quadrouple checked to make sure it was wired right. Tried different possibilities with bad results. I didn't want to splice and eat my wiring and burn fuses and resistors experimenting any further. The theory of course makes sense, but it don't work on my car for some reason. Many have tried to help me, to no avail. Just a headache.

Putting some Auxilliary Light Bulbs under my hood. I tried the relays; The BavAuto Resistor Paks; Some one here - I think JonK made me the Relay Resistor Paks; I tried just going to some huge honkin resistors - all of which failed.

Since I have my new Aux Lights - no probs no messages. The solution cost me $9 and when I get the message - I just replace the bulbs under the hood.

My car may be the one car that did not want the LKM to be fooled. - JT

PM Tiger, he'll send you a custom made fix you can just wire in. Johntee, you spent $300?!?! And I thought I spent a lot! Well we have the same car/model, I guess it's the same stubborness, I knew I wasn't alone. I'll probably resort in the spring to my last alternative that you also resorted to; by wiring in some type of acessory light somewhere....Maybe drill a couple holes into the ellipsoid reflector and make a unique citylight with 194s??

It definitely should work. Same principle as my wiring harness only that I do not want to splice to High Beam harness.... Instead I used a resistor to handle that. I also have a safety fuse on the relay side if in any case things go wrong... this is very important.

Rocky's problem is he can't get the factory harness to fire up his HID ballast... so he used a relay to draw power from jump terminal.
