I found my car on this board. Don't rule this place out.

Why don't you fly to NY and bring back Jason's 535? It's a beauty. My 535 came from Scranton PA and I brought I back to San Diego.

I can't believe no one is taking offense that Pyro said he's "moovin on up" from the 525 to 535 ;) Quality flaming material there from the Pyro himself! :D

Same here.. I was constantly checking the classifieds before I got mine (last weekend)..
I actually got it thanks to two members here seeing an ad in their local Bargain News.. If I hadn't been on the site, I never would have known about it.

And Seriously, buy Jason's..
If I had the extra cash, I would be kicking myself for not buying his instead of the one I bought.

What about bimmerforums? Their classifieds section is very active, you'll have to bump it but it will get plenty of views. Pelican has free BMW classifieds as well. The more you get it out there, the more chances for people to see it. Also, if it were my ad I'd take a few higher quality pictures, and maybe include a couple of the interior. If you really want to sell it, Autotrader is only $35 or so, I sold an A4 in under a month thanks to them.

Moving up would be 1995 540i/6 or an M5. 535i is not such a big step up. At least not worth the trouble selling what you have now. Wait a bit more, save some extra money and go for the M60B40.

Yours looks a lot like mine, which is a 93. I'd be interested to see what you get for it, since mine will be going up soon to make way for an e46.

From the various reviews i have read from the e34 when it first came out, the two engine choices in the us were the 2.5 and 3.5. One such review called the 525i "under powered" while saying that the "Acceleration from the 535i is brisk, and passing power impressive". I havent driven a 525i yet myself, but i can say that passing power on the 535i is indeed "impressive" if a little sluggish right off the line, this could possibly be remidied with a didfferent rear end ratio such as the one installed in 1991 model years. You make the judgement call...above all, dont let people on the board make the descision for you. Go and TEST DRIVE the 535i before you decide if it is a big enough "step up" to make you want to go ahead with it (be sure to sample its "impressive" passing power :D).

actully my first choice was to get a 535i but over here the 540's are just a tiny bit more expensive so i think im going to go with a 540...

I believe that was M20B25 vs. M30B35, and that stands VERY true. M20 is sluggish, even with a stick.

Good boy! Finally, you're making some sense! :)

Be sure to do a compression & emissions tests - don't forget, V8 has 2 O2 sensors, 2 catalysts, 8 spark plugs, 8 injectors and 32 valves. That's a lot of money if you buy a lemon :)
