'89 525 radiator removal, large clips/fasteners on top. At 141k we are into the 4th timing belt. One for age and two for overheating. This one for overtightening fan belt (my bad to stop belt squeal), and taking out bearing at 30k.

Doing this one myself. First time. Have done, with a little help on the belt install, a 325.

How do the large clips that hold radiator to cradle release. Clips/whatever for fan shroud have been replaced with cable ties.

You use a screwdriver to push down and push forward to release the clips. They are a little tricky and it's easy to break them. I bought new ones and actually didn't break the old ones. So I keep them as spares.

Thanks for the tips. Worked well, but no way in Hell to figure that out w/o the kind of help from this board.

You might want to check that out. The timing belt (If yoiu've got one) goes and you've got major problems.
