Hey I was wondering if it was possible to have stock cams ground at a machine shop to gain preformance. like they could change the valve timeing.

Grinding cams cannot really alter timing for performance gain, unless the 'backs' are also ground to increase lift to compensate for the metal removal from the 'nose' and/or 'flanks' (provided the valve gear can be adjusted to suit etc.).
In any event the relationship between inlet and exhaust timing is unlikely to be significantly altered.

This is not usually recommended anyway as it will weaken the cam and inpose greater lift accelerations, which not all designs of cam followers can take without significant wear or even breakage.

You are far better off getting a new 'blank' camshaft and having it ground to a profile that will give you the characteristic you want ... or simply buy a proprietry one from a speedshop etc.
