Hello!

Here is the situation.
I start the engine, go driving. It takes about 3-4 minutes for the needle to move to the centre position (normal temperature).
Then after a while it starts going towards the red area (not good).
When I press the gas pedal, it moves backwards (good).

OK sound like a defected thermostatm but wait...

I park the car. Engine running at 700 rpm.
Heating is off.

Now I turn the heating on (to the max position).
The temperature needle starts moving to the red area and reaches it in 15 seconds.
When I turn the heating off, the needle moves back to the centre.

I have noticed the same thing while driving.

Well... salong heating should cool the cooling system as far as I`m conserned.

Is there an electrical problem?
I am confused.

Ask me extra questions if the above info isn`t enough.
BTW sometimes the temperature needle moves with the heating off too.

Thanks,
Kristjan

The first part made it seem that it was overheating when standing still?? (Fan Clutch)

In the second part, using the heater should make the needle move back from the red to the middle.

could be the sender but it almost sounds like an air pocket.

Yes it should.

But when I turn the heater "ON", the coolant temperature starts to rise rapidly...

Unlogical.

I have had clutch and thermostat problems before, but this is crazy.

Cheers,

Shaun
