I just noticed that the eBay ricer marketeers have finally bowed to public demand and released this cold air intake (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-525i-528i-530i-535i-540i-545i-5er-Not-M5-AIR-INTAKE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38634QQitemZ8010 317118QQrdZ1) for M20, M30, M50, M52 and M60 powered cars.
If one believes this we should all go and get rid of our cheap ABS moulded intake systems for one of these things... despite it looking like it is made out of the thinest cheapest alloy. Does it not consist of around $4 worth of low-quality Asian parts?
Surely the description is untrue. If this product has had any kind of engineering they would know this. The E34 has a highly unrestricted airbox and has a far better filter than most cone-shaped tack-ons.
They also claim it is street and emissions legal. Surely not!
They claim it to be a universal fit for all these cars. Surely not!
