This is a great map, you can put a picture of your car and the location and it will place your car on the map...

Let's show the world where our E34s are...

Hmmm with the latest post about a gutted dashboard... this becomes a map of where to find 'spare' parts! :|

I'm in too. At some point I will put this thread in bimmer nuggets in the archives.

So what is with the post pins in the middle of the pacific? If you click on them, pictures open in the US.

Gayle,

your computer is probably not loading the map correctly. All the pins are on actual land.

Google did a great job with their maps. Considering that the Government can zoom even more on them...

No Phil--That would not be Hawaii.

Actually those pins in the middle of nowhere start appearring on the map when I click on e34 owners in Australia. More proof that you guys are a rowdy bunch of trouble makers.

That said, how come you Aussies haven't put yourselvess on this map? It is non bimmer.info guys from OZ on this map best I can tell. Get going guys. Us geographically challenged Americans need help knowing where the rest of you are.

when I zoomed in to see precisely in which part of sunny birmingham (UK) the Google map had stuck my pin I was totally shocked and now am a touch nervous about how accurate this thing could be! Yesterday evening I was out with my gf to a local chinese restaurant celebrating a friends bday. This place is about 13 miles away from where I live and guess where the pin was? Yepp, exactly where the bl**dy restaurant is ... at most maybe 20 metres off!!! The more I think about it the more nervous this makes me feel. Maybe it is pure coincidence, but on the other hand what if maybe it isn't and that big-eye-satellite is watching over us every step we take. Now I know why those mexicans wear those big sombrero's. Sleep easy everyone!

Cheers,

Mas

...I've tried at least 6 times to register on that map as well as Mark D'Sylva's EAT Chip map and I can't get on either. The only thing I can think of is that my computer is set to incognito mode to protect my secret internet identity - you know how I like to remain incognito on the internet.

Yes, google earth. Everyone should try this thing. Tilt the view and cruise around the grand canyon etc. Our company spends 20k a year on aerial photography / satelite imagery. If google gets any better coverage of our area, we could save a lot of dough :)
