About a month ago, I come out to my driveway @5am to find the rear glass of the drivers side rear door smashed and my dashboard gutted. After the shock wore off I figured the repairs would be simple if I could find the parts. I spliced another plug on for the OBC but I don't get any power and nothing when I press the stalk. I checked all the fuses (that I could find and know about)and did some minor power readings (which did no good since I didn't what i was looking for). PLEASE HELP THE NUBIE :(

P.S. Sorry for being long winded but I wanted to give as much info as i could.

I am not sure if it is the same on the E34, but the E32 has a hidden fuse under the rear seat for the anti-theft device, which is interconnected to the OBC.

Thanks for the quick reply. The fuse was there, it was blown, I changed it and got a sign of life. When I press the S/R button the light next to the Timer button comes on. When I press the timer button the light flashes. Its possible the OBC I have is no good(got it from a scrapper). I'll try another one and let you know how it comes out. If you can think of anything else I would really appreciate it.

That hidden fuse was posted somewhere here before...

Sorry about your loss... A question though... if you used the OBC to CODE... will the car start if you rip out the OBC? Hmmm...

The other scary thing is, what is it good for anyway, except in a BMW?

I don't know the reset procedure. Think I'll breeze thru the archives (by the way, it is actually working, its just very very dim). Drop me a line if you know it off the top of your head.
Thanks to all for your support :D

It's not even worth all that much. $25 - $50
