Pekka -- I'm sure Bret has it. I don't have his card in front of me, but I've posted his contact info on the board a few times (search "bret luter")

If not, I can probably hook you up (been pulling apart a few E34 doors recently).

best, whit

What a bummer that you 100th post and your entry into the ranks of big time posters has to be on this.

I have had my truck broken into twice in the last two years and you find broken bits of glass FOREVER. Sorry this happened to you. Are your windows tinted? Are you going to match issues after this?

On a different note, I am the queen of restoring blue leather cheaply. Private message me if you want tips.

sheriff stopped by.. took some fingerprints that were probably mine. he said the chance are almost 0 of catching anyone. it was prob some young kids who cant be fingerprinted anyway unless theyre picked up for assault or something. they dont print if theyre picked up on curfew violations.

Peks,

I'm really sorry to hear about that. Somebody broke into my car once and stole my stereo as well. They also took cds, document, books, etc., but the worst part---they stole my Opera. I mean what kind of thief reads T.S. Elliot and listens to Opera? So, I guess I'm trying to say that it could be worse, though that's probably not much condolence. Best of luck.

i had my mobile phone stolen out my previous car (a 1994 Fiat Punto), the car was on driveway, engine running, they opened passenger door and picked up phone!

the engine was completely shot, head gasket had gone for the third time, drove 30 miles, very little compression, no coolant and used all oil in 30 mile journey home, STILL RAN THO!!!!!!!!!!!

they could have taken the car!!! clever little thieving b@st@rds

they should get fingers cut off if caught

almost froze to death driving without the window. so i made a temporary drivers window. .118" polycrylic sheet $6.36 from home depot. its a little noisy, and i dont trust it at over 70 mph, but it sure stays warm inside. there was snow flurries in the forecast for tonite.

Hey Bro,
I hate hearing about this stuff... Makes my little crainium fill with thoughts of vengeful rage!!

For what its worth, it could have been ALOT worse...

They could have slashed all your seats, and hood lining, smashed your instruments and the remaining windows, and booted all your panels in...

Or they could have torched it in your driveway!!

Nice window you made there, how about you trade it to that guy who will be selling your faceplate on ebay?

Maybe you could pick it up personally to save on shipping and ...etc.

when I was a kid there was a rash of radio thefts, they would work at night and were taking almost any radios they could get out while totally trashing the dash.

An aquaintance of mine screwed razor blades to the back and underside of his radio and sure enough 2 days later he calls me up to come take a peek...looked like someone was making hamburger under his dash on the floor.

We had a cop friend and talked to him prior to the razor blade game and he told us that whoever it was could sue...but then again what can they sue for? Said to go for it but dont report it if they get cut up.

There was only 1 radio stolen the rest of the year.
