Decatting M50

Hi all

Has anybody here taken the cats off a 2.5 M50 ?

Im thinking about doing this, getting a straight pipe put in instead. Would like to hear from anybody whos done it and if it is worthwhile or not.

My friend has done it on his M52B20, but it should also apply to M50. He said that the exhaust note got a bit deeper and he thinks he got a slight increase in low-end torque.
