This is currently being broadcast live in about 86 countries.
I know they're not Bimmers (V8 Fords & GM vehicles) but if you want to see some edge of the seat racing, on one of the best racing circuits in the world, then see if you can tune in. This is normally a public road during the year. The speeds these car travel over the top of Mount Panorama is really quite scarey.

Much of the state-of-the-art camera work now used worldwide was developed during the past 20 years at this race. ;)

Just as well the camera work is state of the art, because the cars certainly aren't. I wonder why they don't allow M5s or any other modern cars into the race ?

They used to, but of course now it's just another round of the V8 Supercar series.

I went to Bathurst many years ago when they had classes based from 'A' Class down to 'E' Class, in those days they had everything from Monaros & GTHO Falcons, to Alfas, Fiats, BMW's, Lotus Escorts etc. etc.

Yes. Wouldn't be because they were being beaten by Nissan Skylines and Ford Sierras would it ?
If you can't beat them, exclude them. :D

the v8's maybe slow compared to other forms of motor racing, but the acutal racing is awesome and Bathurst has to be considered one on the best tracks in the world. I love it when you see the mechanics change the pads which take 15 secs on a pitstop and no bs, flames are coming off the rotors, while they change the pads.
