= "Cannot determine the engine through the VIN code"

... but you can ! :) refer to the other ref ...

Actually, this is by far the best description of the VIN system I've found as of yet:

As some of you know, I got into what I do now because of BMW; I didn't realize that many of the VIN features present in BMW were global standards.

aww crap... my car is only a 91 model !

it's registered as a 92... on the VIN plate it says 07/92, first registered 07/92 in the service booklet..

ahh well, doesn't make a difference in 2005

i'll pretend it's still a 92 ;)
