That is my next buy from the U.K. Quite resonable price. Just have to check the size of the bulb (30 / 36 / 42mm)

just make sure they give you the right ones.. the interior has a variety of different bulb sizes depending where the light is located

The LEDs are directional... it'll cause hotspotting which won't look too nice...

I got a new bulb for the rear panel today and i noticed that my make-up mirror lights werent working either. I put one of the new bulbs in the right side and it didnt work, it was a new one as the new bulb for the back came in packages of two. Do both bulbs in the mirror light have to work for any to turn on? Since all four mirror lights dont work now im a little suspicious about something else like a fuse or something.

The headlights need to be on or were on for the makeup lights to work... for me ;) Unless I am mistaken.

My headlights need to be on and the mirrors need to be open for those light to work on my car.

And it's a parallel circuit, so one bulb should work if the other is burnt out. Sometimes the contacts and wiring get dirty. My dome light pass driver map beam wasn't working; it was easier to just get another dome light module from Bret Luter than trying to R&R the old one.

best, whit

another possibility is DIY, like done here on a japa. E34 website

Some more samples on switches with LED's here
http://dd.jpn.org/BMW_HP/20050423/index.shtml

The only problem is that I am really bad at soldering electrics and electronics.
Since I 'repaired' our coffee machines from repairable stage to unrepairable, my dearest does not let me touch the hosehold goods with a soldering iron.
Wish I had someone here who could do it for me.
The original lights and switches I have as spare.

I've seen those boards for sale on the net.....I was planing to do this a couple years ago but the LEDs seem to focal. They'll look cool no doubt but will have limited function. I replaced every single bulb (including the trunk and license plate lights) with "hyper-white" ones which give off a truer white light....Anyone who gets in my car at night loves em. I thought they wouldn't last as long as the originals but, 3 yrs now and only a couple burnouts.

When you say every bulb do you mean the ones behind the climate controls and so on or do you just mean the lights that are designed to actually cast light on something?

Am I missing something here? What's wrong with just regular bulbs.

Next time my bulbs are going to go out I am going to replace them with some amber ones - e46 3-series style.

LOL! No.....That would be overboard....(Though I have seen LED conversions of the entire dash on other cars....If we did that our CCMs would go nuts!!...) OK let me not exaggerate and itemize....I have done my 2 front map lights (hard to find but got em) and also the center dome, the rear side pillar lights, the 3 trunk lights, the 2 license plate lights, and of course my 2 front ellipsoid fog-lights and 2 front high-beams to match my HIDs. That's what I meant by everything....The 2 vanity mirror lights and glove-box light tempt me, but I had to smack myself. As to my interior scheme. Weird but it works....I have a Pioneer Premier headunit w/organic EL so it gives that BLUE color...SO I have black lights under the dash and blue LED accents hidden in the interior. The orange and blue make a great contrast and hot combo at night. When they get too distracting, I have switches for everything. Some will think; how ghetto! Well it's something you have to see in person. Everyone wants me to hook up their car the same way.

E46's I've been in have very white interior bulbs, not amber. Look a lot whiter than the bulbs in my car, and I've been meaning to find out if they have a special kind of bulb or what.

I tried some cheap LED replacement interior bulbs, but they were crap. Not much light, and it was a weired purple kind of colour. The homemade ones with that board look like a good solution, you can get some awesome white LED's nowdays, my cellphone has a white LED torch built-in and it's really bright...

Also check the connection to the clip on the inner end of the visor (you know the thing in the hoodlining that you clip the visor in to), as it has a electric connection in it.

Slightly OT. My mate bought an E60 530i, and the sunvisors have the EXACT same sliding-door-thing on the mirrors as our E34s!!
