...is interested in getting some "drift" schools going (aka 'advanced skills days') but noted there are issues with safety setup. Video is pretty much living proof of that, no?

I think some drifting orgs are working to setup safety guidelines to protect drivers and observers.

Thats usually how I park my car at work, you know, for the ladies in accounting to see. Guess I'd better watch for that little 'thing' that can happen during the wave portion.

Taking all the fun out of my day,

I concluded that his throttle stuck the whole time and finally he gave up trying to stop the thing, nobody really in their right mind would bounce the motor off the rev limiter like that .....or would they?

This is how cars get back at abusive drivers.

Chalk one up for BMW

You guys definitely need to enforce the rule that you have to stay in the car with your hands on the steering wheel while drifting. No getting out of the car mid-drift!!!

Most of the ricer crowd relies on their rev limiters to keep the pistons inside the block.

Great video - BMW revenge !

Was that a hood scoop on his car ?

I think that noise was the car's engine "bouncing" off of its rev limiter.

I can just imagine a bullfighter watching this and saying to himself:

"No, no, you're going to get yourself killed like that! You're doing it all wrong!"

I can just imagine a bullfighter watching this and saying to himself:

"No, no, you're going to get yourself killed like that! You're doing it all wrong!"Haven't any of you had this happen before? Last time my cruise control got jammed on (damn brake switch was faulty) I had to stop myself climbing out on the hood, beating my chest and bowing to all those watching incredulously as I powered past all the freeway exits with no way to stop... :D

That's just a bad way to go. I reckon he might have lived, but not nicely. You can see he was so happy waving at the crowd he forgot to keep an eye on the old girl, and she had some attitude- was just waiting to eat him for dinner.

I hope it wasn't a heavy old M30 in there leaving its mark on him.

Actually they were pretty lucky she didn't manage to go runaway into the crowd somehow. I can see this one being kept in the insurance company's media war-chest.

BM-Boy,
Copy the file name and paste it into google and see for yourself.

What an idiot! I do hope he's okay, but also hope that he never allowed near a car again.

That car was high-centered on his body for a while, had to crush him pretty good. I hope he's not dead with all the laughs people have been getting out of this. Somebody has got to know what his condition is, it seems like this video is up on quite a few websites.
