I have been sent a set of e38 16x8s as a wedding gift (see below). Are these the same rims as seen in your pic, or are yours a 17" style 5? I'm hoping they're the same as they look great on your sled. If they are the same, what brand / size of tire are you running? Any other notables?

Thanks in advance,

Tires are Yokohama AVS dB S2, 225/60VR15. Thanks for the compliments. I think those 16x8's will look just right on your car!

Thanks, I thought it was one of the better gifts we received. And yes, they were from a very good friend who hooked me on bimmers a number of years ago.

Bill b, those 15"s look deceivingly phat on the 525, stock necver looked so good.

Over and out,

Dave M

the e38 16" rims will be real close to the struts and not all brands of tires will clear that are the same size (not all tires are created to spec), i run 225/55/16 kumho 712's on mine that are very close to stock diameter, cheep and pretty good wet/dry traction, the only thing i don't like but can live with is they flat spot a little and take a couple miles to even out when parked a while but it's not bad and goes away quickly, i am on my 2nd set of the harder compound 149 mph rated versions, they make a softer 186 mph that i haven't had a use for

Thanks Winfred,

I've heard some actually run a 215 (at least up front). I'll look for the Kumhos in Canada.
