Cost wise, has anyone had experience in the labor charges for this sort of job? I think that this might be the problem/noise which I am hearing during certain times of acceleration.

I replaced mine on the 91 535. Not a hard job to DIY... Bruno's site has instructions that worked just fine. Parts are kind of pricey, IIRC something like $100 per hub.

If I had to venture a guess... I would say it might be a 2 hour job per side for a mechanic? Maybe $300 in labor? Just a wild guess.

There are 2 different types of hubs for the e34. I remember encountering a 535, maybe that parts car, that had 1 of each hub. There is ~$20 price difference. It is a pretty easy job, once a big socket is sourced.

I think BMW charges something like 4 FRUs (1 hour) per side. Not a hard job. Experience and tools = get it done in 1/2 hour. THAT'S how your local dealer mechanic works 40 and bills 80.

go figure.

I just had mine done at Les Schwab tires.. $70 in labor, they let me supply the parts BMA right at $100 per side.

"Less" Schwab? I'd be inspecting that one...
