One of the cats in my 94 530i started leaking......have found new aftermarket shipped for $350.00. Anyone else purchase one lately...opinions.

the insides, weld it back up, reinstall.

NOTE: might not be legal in your state ;)

all you need is a 3 foot long screw driver & a hook shaped item.
at least that is what i heard is the easiest & does not make any outer marks.
i know where i live they only do visual inspections.

patches out of sheet metal if thats all it is is a leak.. such as at a seam, If its really starting to rot away then you would be better of getting another.. I haven't put any on a bmw yet but have had no trouble with the aftermarket on other cars. Even the cheapo 80 dollar ones that i put on a lot of trucks seem to do the job just fine.. may not last as long as the original did though.

Magnaflows are working great for me. Had 2 installed a few months back on my 540/6. Make sure you get it done by a shop with some integrity and you'll be fine.
Cost me around $60 each plus another 50 for installation.
