Hi,

I want to buy a burgundy 540i/6sp (1995) model. Do you guys know where I can find one? On top, I want it with the sport seats.

I have been checking on Ebay, autotrader.com, cars.com. Where else should I look for it? I am willing to pay a premium price but the car should be in pristine condition as well.

thanks.

and burgundy/calypso red itself is also a hard color to find on an E34. ive seen many E34s on the road, cant remember seeing any burgundy ones. id say ebay and autotrader are your best bet.

the 540 is a great car with a great engine, but some would almost say that the engine is almost too big for the car and this can create a lot of problems. with a 6spd, you would eliminate a lot of the tranny problems with auto 540s but there are still numerous things that can/will go wrong with the 540. if you have the time, money, and patience then be my guest, but if you would like an E34 with the most reliable engine in the M30, on top of that its burgundy/calypso red and a 5 speed. Other than the M5, this is the most sought after non-M E34. and for 12500, you can not go wrong! i would consider this (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum//showthread.php?s=&threadid=182038) greatly.

"1993 Calypso Red 535i on tan leather with 5 speed transmission. This was the last year the 535 was made and only 75 units were made in 5 speed! Truly a rare car to own. Never driven in snow, meticulously maintained, garaged kept and adult driven. This is a European delivered for USA use and specifications, All records and receipts since brand new. Car has 100K original miles.

Upgrades include: Bilstein Sports Shocks on Eibach Springs,
Jim Comforti chip which bumps up the HP by about 23hp more , stock is 208 hp and also 18 x 8.5 Rondell cross spoke wheels with polished lip.

Asking $12,500 with rims and $10,500 stock 15"s."

probably thought it wouldnt have been a popular color at the time. and to find it on a 93 5 spd (only 75 5spds made in 93) is even rarer.
