Just found an interesting repair tip on a German E30 website. For those of you which have automatic headlight adjustment motors and have trouble with these, there is a cheap possibility to replace these ones with modified ones from a Ford Fiesta (European version of course). They can be found more often on scrapyards than E30/E34/E32
Might be interesting for some of you.
Language of course in German, but the pics explain it all. :)

I had to disconnect mine because one was faulty and kept throwing error codes.

Wasn't there a write up on rebuilding the units on this board? Hard to say which process wins the degree of difficulty:

finding your units and getting them shipped to Texas or

removing and rebuilding my oem euro units.

anyone recall that link to the write up? I'm pretty sure it was error code related and I recall my false/misleading error code was for the license plate light.

link?

TIA

The part is made by Hella. Hella # 6NM 004 375-311
In Europe it costs per piece EURO 47.13, so roughly US$ 50.
